Outside

Walk on the dike
Take a tour of Marken on the walking path along the coast of this former island. On one side the water ripples, on the other side you see a different element of the island.

Day in Volendam
Always wanted to go to Volendam? The fishing village on the IJsselmeer, with old houses, cozy restaurants and of course the famous Dijk, attracts almost 2.5 million visitors every year. Volendam can be reached by car, bicycle or boat.
Bike rental
Bicycle rental Marken also rents children's bicycles, child seats, tandems and wheelchairs. Open when the weather is nice. Bicycle rental can be found in the large parking lot during the summer months.

Inside

Clog factory
In picturesque Marken you will find a real clog maker. In the Wooden Shoe Factory you can still see traditional clogs and you can watch how they are made. The clog factory can be found at the entrance of Marken.
Museum
Discover the special history of the former island of Marken in the six traditional houses of the Marker Museum and step into the life of a fishing family from 1932. The museum is located less than 100 meters from the B&B in the church district.
Watch house and souvenirshop Sijtje Boes
Step into the Kijkhuisje Sijtje Boes and admire the original furnishings of a typical Marken house, complete with box beds. The cottage is also a souvenir shop and the entrance is free. The cottage is located on the harbour.
Restaurants
There are a number of cozy restaurants on Marken. You will find a few near the harbour. When the weather is nice, you can relax on the terraces.
